Auahi Kore is about:
- Developing positive Auahi Kore /Smokefree attitudes, behaviours, and settings amongst Māori
- Introducing and fostering more Auahi Kore settings including Marae and wherever Māori gather
- Increasing awareness and support for the Auahi Kore kaupapa so that it becomes the accepted norm
- Reducing exposure to second hand smoke within the Māori community
- Promoting cultural appropriate cessation programmes such Aukati Kaipaipa
- Increasing the number of Smokefree/ Auahi Kore events
- Reducing whānau role model smoking
- Reducing Rangatahi uptake
 Community and Public Health is committed to promoting and supporting the Auahi Kore message and the Auahi Kore brand which represents fresh air (the blue wave), and fresh lands (the green wave).
