Smokefree / Auahi Kore

Auahi Kore is about:

  • Developing positive Auahi Kore /Smokefree attitudes, behaviours, and settings amongst Māori
  • Introducing and fostering more Auahi Kore settings including Marae and wherever Māori gather
  • Increasing awareness and support for the Auahi Kore kaupapa so that it becomes the accepted norm
  • Reducing exposure to second hand smoke within the Māori community
  • Promoting cultural appropriate cessation programmes such Aukati Kaipaipa
  • Increasing the number of Smokefree/ Auahi Kore events
  • Reducing whānau role model smoking
  • Reducing Rangatahi uptake
